I hope that all of you had a very happy holiday and a nice break! We have lots to accomplish in 2009, but first a few reminders:
We will be having our 2nd Quarter Test at the end of this week. Please be sure to come to class each day prepared to learn - with text, paper, pencil, notebook, calculator (if needed) and BRAIN. We will be turning in Volume 1 of our text for Volume 2 at the first meeting next week (1/12 & 1/13).
Your notebook is an important part of your grade. Be sure that you have a separate 3 ring binder for this class with the tabs noted in the syllabus (posted in the Class Files of this website). You are required to have this notebook and bring it to class each day. There will be unannounced notebook checks and those who do not have them will lose points.
The following information about Grade Recovery will no longer be available after January 9. You must contact me when you have completed the program and set an appointment to take your final exam after school.
Students who are in Grade Recovery may log onto the Compass Odyssey website throught the "Class Links" located on our class website or you may go to https://duvalnet.duvalschools.org. You will log on as you do in the Media Center with "s + student number". Your password is the last four digits of your social security number. For Grade Recovery you will choose the "1st Qtr" which is located on the left. You will be prompted through the assignments. Remember that you must complete all of the assignments and take the final exam before January 9, so don't delay getting started.
All students may use Compass Odyssey as a tutorial for the concepts we are studying this quarter. This would be helpful practice to strengthen your skills as well as helping you catch up if you have been absent. Please see me if you have any questions or are interested in using this program.
