Grades
Track Your Own Grades with a worksheet I put together for you!!!! Where is it? Go to my Class Files link and save the worksheet to your hard drive and print it out for your own use!!! Only catch is.... You have to have Microsoft Excel if you want to change it up at home. I think you can print it out from the web but I'm not sure about that. If you can't print it at home, you can use the Media Center's computers & printers!!!!

I included 3 of my favorite websites that have interactive US Map quizzes! I like all three and depending on which you choose, you can change the level of difficulty. Have Fun!
* * * Extra Credit * * *
We are in need of supplies as we come towards the end of the year! Each student may bring in one of these supplies each week as well as the extra credit offered below. Supplies we are in need of are:
~ Paper (computer) ~ White Out (the tape kind)
~ small sized protractors ~ Round magnets (thick, strong kind)
I've listed below 2 additional things that can be completed each week for extra credit!!!! If a student brings in one of the supplies above, the NY Times Science section of the newspaper as well as the Friday current event article w/summary, it is possible to earn 6 points of extra credit each week!!! I have witnessed this raise a student's grade by nearly 2 points each week, so PLEASE take advantage of these opportunities!!!!!

Friday Current Event article/Make Up Work
Every Friday you may submit a current event from either a newpaper or internet site on the topic we are currently working in. If we are working in Oceans, anything regarding the ocean or how it's inhabitants are affected by pollution or environmental changes, is fair game. The article must be submitted or at least a copy of it!!!
Along with your article, a FULL 1-page summary -AND- on the back a very descriptive opinion paragraph needs to come with the article. 'I liked it a lot, it was cool, I learned a lot!' is NOT sufficient!!! There are articles out there that are short in length and interesting but you will find it extremely hard to write a 1 page summary on those brief topics, so try to avoid them!
