American History

My name is Brian Davis. I am currently an 8th grade American History teacher at Devon Aire K-8 center. I have been teaching in the Dade County Public school system for 16 years. In my 16 year stint, I have taught at Joe Hall, Zora Neale Hurston, and William Lehman Elementary. At Devon Aire K-8 center, I serve as the 8th grade team leader, and Activities Director. However, I am not all work. On the weekend, I am the coach of my son's flag football team. I enjoy the rigor of the sport, the friendships that are fostered as a result of team work, and the victories that my team has had. I have served as their coach for 5 seasons. Three years ago my team won the award for the turn around team, and two years we were the only team to go undefeated and compete for the championship. I am very proud of them and their accomplishments. Lastly, I am a family guy. I have two children that I love immensly. I have a 10 year son, and a two year old daughter and a wife that depend on me. In closing, I am a regular guy who loves his profession. I feel that every child rightfully deserves an education and I believe that it is my mission to educate and inform the children that grace my classroom.
